Instructions for authors

Before submitting your manuscript to The International Journal Problems and Perspectives of Pharmaceutics and Drug Discovery, please get acquainted with these Instructions carefully.

The International Journal Problems and Perspectives of Pharmaceutics and Drug Discovery publishes original Research articles and Reviews.

Research articles should report novel data/information regarding pharmaceutics and drug discovery. Topics such as chemical processing of pharmaceuticals, developing drug forms, targeted drug delivery of known substances, biopharmaceutics, pharmacodynamics, development of pro-drug forms and other closely related topics to drug development are encouraged. Papers representing mathematical modelling and/or simulations of drug interactions with receptors or other biomolecules are welcome.

Data resulting from monitoring should be clear and conclusive, extending the previously reported knowledge. Data or results lacking a serious scientific proof are not encouraged. Authors are expected to demonstrate the reproducibility and statistical significance of the results in the Experimental section.

Review papers should thoroughly analyze and highlight general and specific points in a narrow area of science dealing with drug development/delivery/pharmacokinetics. Not only invited reviews will be considered for publication, we welcome to consider submitted reviews. Authors wishing to publish a review paper are asked to contact the Editor-in-Chief before submission (normakhamatov@pharmi.uz).

Preparation of Manuscripts for Submission

Submission of a manuscript implies that the main results of the paper have not been published before and not under consideration anywhere else. The corresponding author is responsible for the whole information in the submitted paper (approval of the work by all co-authors, correct and complete affiliations of the authors, and for listing the appropriate funding).

Research papers are to be prepared following IMRaD structure. Results and Discussion sections can be combined if considered preferable.

Title Page

The title page should include full name(s) of the author(s), a concise and informative title up to 20 words, the affiliation(s) and address(es) of all author(s), the e-mail of the corresponding author.

Abstract

The abstract might include up to 250 words. It should be clear and easy to understand for scientists of a wide range of research. The editors encourage conclusive sentences in abstract. Please, avoid using undefined abbreviations and geographical names.

Keywords

4 to 6 keywords should be provided. Avoid using abbreviations.

Text Formatting

Manuscripts are to be submitted in MS Word (docx or doc format), written in Times New Roman with font size 12. Tables, figures, graphs, pictures, etc. should be provided in the same file where appropriate.

Main headings and sections (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgements, and References) are displayed in bold letters, font size 14. Sub-headings are written in bold letters, font size 12.

Introduction

The Introduction section should concisely explain the essence of the work. While explaining the aim and the novelty of the work, the authors should cite references of the last two decades (not older information). References, state standards or pharmacopeia data in languages other than English will be undesirable. Authors are encouraged accurately demonstrate gaps in the research that caused to study the presented results.

Materials and Methods

The section should clearly depict the experimental design. If considered preferable, schemes of technological processes can be provided beneath the subsection, respectively.

Complicated experimental designs using higher number of variations can be explained in table.

Results

Results section have to present every single data resulted from methods used in the previous section. Please, use GraphPad (Prism), Anova or specific programs to prepare graphs/histograms, so that the points determining the average mean value as well as significant changes can be indicated in the graph that make it more conclusive. Graphs and histograms prepared in MS Excel are not welcome.

Spectral data as well as microscopic images should be well reviewed to explain changes/differences and variations.

Discussion

Cited data from earlier carried works should concisely explain whether approve(s) the obtained results or vice-verse. If not explaining possible reason is the authors’ responsibility. The authors are expected to well explain whether what was claimed as novelty covers gaps provided in Introduction section.

Following logical explanations (not consequences of data provided in Results section) is the best option that make the paper easier to catch the point.

Abbreviations

Abbreviations should be defined at first mention both in abstract and the main text. Please use SI nomenclature or the nomenclature that is common to a particular field. The names of species and Genus have to be in italics.

References

The references in the text by should be given by name and year in parentheses, e.g. ...according to Jones et al. (2019); …observed by others (Sobirov et al. 2015; Huang et al. 2018; Parkinson and Kumar 2004; Pavlov 2007).

The list of references should be given in alphabetical order by the last names of the first authors of each paper. Please provide the full name of each journal (italic) not the standard abbreviations of journal titles. Please provide DOI number of each paper in an appropriate form.

Examples:

Abdullaev A, Bozorov B, Davronov D. Chitosan-based drug delivery systems prolonging circulation period. Drug Delivery Trends. 2015, 5(6): 122-128, http://doi.org/10.XXXX

Jones FC. Carbohydrate-based drug delivery systems. In: Khan D, Kumar G (eds) Nanodelivery systems in Cancer Treatment. Springer, Berlin, 2018, pp: 72-85.

Figures

Figures should be given in text in consecutive numerical order. The resolution of the figures should be 300 dpi at least. The title and the caption of each figure should be given in the text after figure (Times New Roman, font size 11). Special features of the figure can be explained beneath the caption using an asterisk. Editors and reviewers encourage the authors to show significant differences in graphs and histograms.

Tables

Tables should be given in text in numerical order. The table caption should highlight the main points. Footnotes can be indicated beneath the table. Significant differences can be pointed with asterisks or using italics.

Conflict of Interest statement

The corresponding author holds responsibility for consents of all authors. Before the reference list Conflict of Interest Statement have to be provided.

Example:

The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
